Another encounter with JW at my door this morning.

I posted an encounter with A elder A few months ago.

We had A lengthy conversation. He knew I was once

A elder, served where the need was great , etc. So I

figured, surely he will mark down, do not call "Apostate".

To my surprise, Two ladies at my door this morning.

I live in A small community by Calif. standards. One

KH in my city.

Before she could give her presentation (reaching in

bag for the mag.), I stop her. At one time I was A JW

Elder, serve where the need was great and etc.

From previous encounters I felt she would turn around

and leave, she did not to my surprise. The men would talk

but the women, run like hell.

I do not have A sharp mind like many here, but my thoughts were

all over the place. So the only thing I could come up with was

the overlapping generation change.

I realize, these people think the Bible is A book of world

history. It,s very fustrating talking to those people.

Anywhy we talk for A while and she ask did I know A certain

brother that years ago he and I was in the same hall.

Yes I knew him well. She said he is back and he is A elder,

remarried and doing fine. He was DF for adultery.

It,s not working, I tell them I am A agnostic, I do not beleive

in your God, no way I will become A JW again and they still

come back. Am I the only Df person in this town.  Many know

my family members that are still in. To day was A surprise, two

sisters talking to A DF person.

I forget to mention, she was A JW in 1975, so when she

said friends moved ahead in the preaching work at the time

I stop her and told her I was there. We preach what we

was told to preach, you know that. Then she said. yes we

had to adjust our thinking. I am sure it was A learning ex-

perience for her young (20-30 yrs) partner.

Hah!!!

Man, they are SO desparate for men in the congregations that they're coming after YOU!!!

I love  the way she mentioned the other elder who was disfellowshipped for "adultery" and later reinstated...  To her narrow JW mind, your leaving the Watctower Corporation MUST have been due to your weak, 'sinful' nature - couldn't have had ANYTHING to do with the Jehovah's Witnesses and their theology, oh, NO...!!

Maybe you could have had more fun by engaging them on the subject of "Noah's" "flood"...  There is a MOUNTAIN of evidence AGAINST that biblical "miracle" - not to mention that it's another GLARING example of "Jehovah" killing off INNOCENT babies and animals - practically ALL of them - the animals, that is...

Too bad about all those babies...

ziddina; these people are brain dead. We talk A little

about how bad things are today. I told her, I think the

world is much better then in Jesus day. We live longer,

better healthy don,t you think. She said, yes my mom is

85yrs old. So Iam thinking, what the hell, now what were

you saying.

If they talked with you, maybe they had doubts about the organization themselves and we hoping to learn something.

I had them here during the week, apparantly I was down as a do not call, and they wanted to know if it was ok to call again, anyway they asked why i left & was it bcoz i had problems with other members, my reply was no it was on doctrine etc, like false prophecy re Jesus' return in 1870s bigA coming in 1914, 15, 18, 24 & 75 and so on, their reply was those things were never said, anyways they couldn't get out quick enough, so now I'm most likely back on the do not call list. Mixed feelings about that I do like to converse with them at the door, but some times they really piss me off

Ding; It,s strange, on one hand they are told not

associate with family members that are DF. I have made it

known to each JW that have come to my door over the

past 10yrs I am DF. I have encountered many from that

KH. It,s A small hall, one Spanish and one English. So Iam

sure they know who lives here, or maybe they do not keep

records like they use to. But the point is, one daughter that

have not spoke with me in 10yrs and you have sisters discussing

the Bible with A known DF person.

Yeah, Jam, I've noticed that myself.... 

The first three - four times JWs came to my door [after moving back into a heavily-popuated area], I told them that I'd disassociated myself.  There was no real reaction; they didn't even blink!!

But I'm grateful, in the long run, that I didn't end up on their "do-not-call" list...

It's given me so many opportunities to do "anti-witnessing" since then!!! 

not to hijack, but I had a three hour flight yesterday with a JW that wanted to start trying to offer me magazines and talk to me about how awful the world is and and how god is our only hope.

That was amusing :)

At my old address they had me down as a do not call.

occasionaly they would call when they forgot to check the list. I would ID myself and they would depart.

not anymore! i will theocratic warfare away with them as long as i can.

To make it easy on ourselves we let JWs witness to themselves from their own current publications.

We're waiting for an opportunity to tell a door knocker we believe they have a very good article on "legalism" - could they please explain from the heart what is "legalism" - and its opposite - along with examples!

If they take the bait they will end up reading and explaining a summary of ex-GB member Ray Franz' book "In Search of Christian Freedom" from their own Awake magazine (g79 6/8 pp. 27-28). This must be one of the most hated articles in the entire Watchtower library for the Watchtower Pharisees (ruling religious clergy class) and the Watchtower Sanhedrin (GB).

Yes...we did  indeed have to adjust our thinking only because we were thinking that what they told us was accurate and true. We trusted them and banked our entire future on the premise that they were being instructed by God. It's difficult if not impossible to move ahead in the preaching work with the same courage of ones convictions after you've been duped so badly time and time again. Think of the countless hours and millions of pieces of literature spread throughout the world (much of it is still out there ) containing their old and incorrect teachings and all the people who were turned away from God and religion after reading the Watchtower literature and recognizing it for what it is....more man made dogma masquerading as the ultimate truth of the world. More individuals willing to sacrafice their lives and the lives of their children to prove how right they are.

Lucky you getting to play we never have witnesses call but in fairness neither do any of our neighbours.

I tought of this last nite, something I forgot.

In our conversation about the generation change.

When I ask her to explain the new change or the

new light on the overlapping generation, She looked

at me as if she had no idea what I was talking about.

The young sister looked puzzled and ask what new light.

The older sister, there was some recent information or

new light in regards to the generation in Matt.

Then the older sister turn to me and ask, where are you

getting your information? I lied and told her from the official

WT web site.

Honesty is the best approach.

I am always up-front with the doors .I think it should be mandatory for everyone to study the Proclaimers book and come to grips with past mistakes. Forget about the light gets brighter stuff, Some die-hard or un baptized publishers can be a little sanctimonious at times.. Or it may be that they are ignorant or that they don’t like to admit that they once followed blindly false teachings .

No not put all your trust in Nobles .
